The process of buying and selling a home was not something we were prepared for. It was by happenstance that we met Peter Johnston at an open house we had stumbled upon. In most cases we had always attended an open house without any further communication with the realtor. But, this time our instincts told us to let Peter guide us. Immediately, Peter had so many options for us, and with his guidance, we found our forever home. We had so many questions it was overwhelming. Peter was very patient with us and made sure there were no mishaps. If we had a question that he was not sure of, he would research and come back with an answer. His demeanor and professionalism are key as well as his good sense of character. We are grateful for the opportunity to have Peter on our team.

Peggy and her son Peter (in business together) were terrific in buying our new house and selling our old house. We got to know Peggy and Peter while looking for a house to meet our (very specific) desires. Peter saw a new house for sale near the area we were looking and said, “this would be perfect for them”. He was right. Peggy arranged for us to see the house, and we fell in love with it. Buying a house these days is not simple. The number of legal documents to be reviewed (especially for a new house in a Home Owners’ Association) is daunting as is the entire process: the negotiations with the seller, disclosures, the escrow process, and multiple types of inspections, moving, maintenance, etc. Peggy is incredibly knowledgeable; she guided (hand-held is more accurate) us through the process right through the final settlement. Peggy had great recommendations for movers, housekeepers, inspectors, etc. which were all very valuable. Peter was there whenever we needed help in meeting people (inspectors and installers) at the house and also knows the business well; he also has great taste in houses. They are both terrific and work very well together as a team. When it came time to sell our old house immediately after moving into our new house, Peggy and Peter were there for us. They managed the entire process, from timing and price determination, to cleaning and painting the house, “staging” the house for sale to get a better price, conducting open houses (of which there were only two since the house sold very quickly – Peter and Peggy priced the house very accurately), to receiving the offers (primary and backup), negotiating the sale price and conditions, going through and closing escrow, and, again, reviewing and signing all the legal documents. They are both very knowledgeable, about the process as well as the real estate market in our buying and selling locations. Again, they were terrific. The bottom line is that we could not have done the whole thing without Peggy and Peter. We highly recommend them, individually and as a team, for selling and buying a home. We love our new home. We met Peter at an open house that we decided to just walk into. From the first time we met him, my whole family LOVED him! He was really relaxed, helpful and not pushy at all. My husband and I had been thinking of moving to Manhattan Beach for 2 years for work but did not know the neighborhood at all. We had a few brokers who were sending us the MLS listings according to the specifications we put out, but now I know that never tells the whole story and is very impersonal. When we met Peter he talked to me for a few minutes about what kind of house I was looking for and what was important to me and my family. He asked if he could email me and I figured yeah another set of MLS listing....but no this was different. He was REALLY listening to me! Instead of the MLS listings he would send these detailed emails about houses he thought I would like with explanations of the plus and minus of the house according to what was important to me. Kind of like the cliff notes to the book and he was right on every time! He was AMAZING! Within maybe 2 weeks he found us a pocket listing that was PERFECT for me and my family and we moved! I couldn't believe it. 2 years of procrastinating and in 3 weeks of meeting Peter we were in the PERFECT house. Soooooo happy! Thank you Peter! You're a gem!
